Most clients contacting me have never done a professional pet photoshoot before - & almost all of them worry their dog won’t cooperate.

That’s completely normal.

Here are the questions I hear the most.

“My dog doesn’t sit or stay. Can we still do a session?”

Yes - & honestly, most of the dogs I photograph don’t.

I do not rely on strict posing for all photos. I photograph movement, expressions, & natural behaviour. I use patience, timing, & understanding body language rather than obedience commands.

Your dog does not need training for a successful session.

“My dog is reactive or nervous around strangers.”

Thank you for telling me - those are actually some of my most carefully planned sessions. I cannot work with dogs that may be reactive with the photographer.

We choose quiet locations, allow decompression time, & I never approach your dog immediately. I work at their pace & respect their comfort distance. Many reactive dogs settle quickly because I don’t pressure them.

You will not be judged, & your dog will not be forced.

“My dog cannot be off leash.”

That is completely fine & very common.

Safety always comes first. Your dog will remain leashed or handled, & I professionally remove leashes & distractions during editing. The final images will look natural & clean.

“What if my dog doesn’t cooperate at all?”

I structure sessions so that cooperation is not required.

We take breaks, play, walk, & reset as often as needed. I only need small moments - a glance, a pause, a natural expression - not long poses.

Owners almost always leave saying:

“I didn’t think you got anything…”

and are surprised when they see the gallery.

“Can I be in the photos too?”

Absolutely - & I encourage it.

Many people hesitate because they don’t feel prepared or dressed perfectly, but years later the photos clients treasure most are the ones showing the relationship, not just the portrait.

Simple, relaxed images with your dog often become the most meaningful ones you own.

“My dog is old or has medical issues. Should I wait?”

Please don’t wait.

Senior & end-of-life sessions are handled gently, slowly, & with comfort as the priority. We can work around mobility, stamina, & medication schedules.

These are the sessions clients later tell me they are most grateful they did.

“What should my dog wear?”

Nothing is perfectly fine.

Collars can stay on or be removed in editing by request. I usually recommend simple, non-distracting collars or bandanas if you want a little personality.

Your dog’s expression matters more than accessories.

“What should I wear?”

Keep it simple & neutral.

If you’d like to be a part of your session, avoid bright neon colours, large logos, or busy patterns. Earth tones, soft colours, & textures photograph best & keep attention on your dog.

I’m happy to help you choose before the session.

“How long is a session?”

Most sessions last 45–90 minutes depending on your dog’s comfort, behaviour & energy level.

I don’t run sessions on a strict timer - I end when we have what we need & your dog is still comfortable.

“Where do sessions take place?”

You can choose:

• studio portraits
 • outdoor natural locations
 • your own property (if suitable)

I help recommend the best option based on your dog’s personality & behaviour.

“When will I see the photos?”

You will receive a private online gallery approximately 1-2 weeks after your session.

From there you can select favourites & decide what you would like to keep.

“Do I have to buy prints?”

You only purchase what you love.

There is no obligation beyond the session fee. Some clients want a single favourite image, while others create albums or wall art - both are completely fine.

“What if the weather is bad?”

Outdoor sessions are rescheduled at no cost.
Your dog’s comfort & safety are always more important than a calendar date.

“How do I book?”

Start with a consultation.

We talk about your dog, your goals, & which session type fits best. After that, we choose a date & reserve your spot with a session retainer.

“We had a Powder photo shoot with Arttina Photography and Tina was a Pro. We LOVE how the photo's turned out of our handsome Poodle. Everything was done with great care and fun ! I would highly recommend her to do your next, or new, photo shoot with you and/or your pet.”
