Arttina Pet & Event Photographer

I didn’t become a dog photographer because dogs are cute.

I became a dog photographer because they aren’t in our lives long enough.

Anyone who shares their life with a dog understands how quickly time changes them - the puppy energy fades, the habits settle, & one day the little expressions you saw every day become the things you miss the most. My photography is about preserving those details before they quietly disappear.

I created Arttina Photography to photograph real dogs, not perfect ones.

Many of the dogs I work with aren’t obedience champions. Some pull on leash, some are shy with strangers, some are reactive, & some are aging & slow. That’s completely normal. My sessions are built around patience, safety, & understanding canine behaviour rather than forcing dogs into poses. I watch body language, allow decompression time, & adapt constantly so the experience stays positive & low-stress for both the dog & the owner.

You don’t need a perfectly trained dog to have meaningful portraits - you just need your dog.

My background with dogs came long before photography. Years spent around sport & working dogs taught me how differently each dog thinks, moves, & responds to pressure & environment. That experience shapes how I photograph. I know when to step back, when to give a break, & when a dog is comfortable enough to show their real expression. Your dog’s emotional safety always comes before the photo.

I've been published in various sport magazines, Canadian Geographic & my photos have been used in various books for individual authors. As well as receiving several awards for my photography, continuing to capture the memories is my life.

In addition to individual pet sessions, I photograph organized dog sports & events including trials & club activities. Action photography requires anticipation, timing, & an understanding of how dogs move, & I approach it with the same respect for the sport as I do for the individual dog. My goal is to document both performance & personality - the intensity of a working dog & the connection they share with their handler.

My sessions are intentionally calm. There is no rushing, no pressure for your dog to perform, & no expectation that they will “behave perfectly.” We take breaks, play, reset, & work at your dog’s pace. Often the best images happen between planned moments - a glance toward you, a relaxed posture, or a familiar expression you see every day but never get to keep.

Arttina Photography exists to give you something lasting - not just a photograph, but a reminder of who your dog was & what they meant to your life.

“Tina included all my “special requests” in our shoot, and I had many! Amazing time we had taking the pictures in a conservation area my 2 dogs and I. I had a very hard time to choose, as they were all exceptional! Tina is extremely talented, life time memories captured!”
